The following old picture postcards are from a private local collection. Postcard collecting is called Deltiology. Old picture postcards offer significant insight into the past. Noting old postcards create a visual record of local architecture and landmarks of a bygone era. The heyday of picture postcards was the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. America became captivated with postcards as photography and printing techniques were developed and printing transitioned into a color media. Due to that enthusiasm millions of picture postcards were printed and some very old ones still exist today.
