Founded in 1816, Brighton Township is a residential community that balances a quiet, pastoral rural setting and safety with a progressive attitude and easy access to Beaver, Pittsburgh and a host of other Western Pennsylvania amenities. Township residents enjoy low taxes, top-ranked K-12 education system, excellent outdoor recreation, and access to high-quality healthcare within a few minutes drive. The township consists of about 18.5 square miles and a population of more than 8,700 residents.

A township of the Second Class, it is governed by a board of three elected supervisors, each serving a six year term.

Brighton Township proactively communicates to keep residents well-informed through a variety of channels, including a Facebook page and hard copy newsletters.
