BTMA – Lead and Copper Inventory
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule required public water systems, including the Brighton Township Municipal Authority (BTMA), to complete an initial inventory of water service lines and to categorize them as: Lead; Galvanized Requiring Replacement; Lead Status Unknown; or Non-Lead. BTMA has completed and filed this inventory as required. The goal of the EPA Lead and Copper Rule is to have all lead service lines replaced within then (10) years. This is because it has been determined that exposure to lead can have adverse health effects. You can be exposed to lead in paint, dust, soil, air, and food, as well as drinking water.
BTMA’s service line inventory can be found here: see pdf of map
