Important Emergency Services Information

The Board of Supervisors is responsible for the protection of lives and property of the residents of our community, and exercise control of the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery functions required for emergency management. As a result, the Township maintains an emergency management plan and appoints an emergency management coordinator. This is especially important due to the Township’s location within the 10-mile radius of the Beaver Valley Power Station nuclear facility in Shippingport. This information can also be used as guidance for natural emergencies such as floods, tornadoes and fires.

The public service section of your local telephone directory contains an “Important Emergency Information” section that describes actions that you should take in the event of an emergency at the Beaver Valley Power Station.
